The Magic Axe is a magic item that cuts everything, it hits. It is owned by the Blind woodsman, who would give it to whoever guesses his name Juliet.

History

Not much is known about the history of these item. It seems, that the woodsman owns it for a long time. Hundreds of people have tried to guess his name, but nobody has ever guessed it. So he beheaded them all.

Summary

After Virginia was cursed by the gypsies, her hair grows longer and longer. Whatever Wolf and Tony try, nothing can cut Virginia's hair. Suddenly one of the magic birds appears and tells them, that in the forest lives a blind woodsman, who has a magic axe. These item would heal Virginia's curse. While Virginia is captured by the Huntsman, Tony and Wolf find the blind woodsman, who is chopping firewood. The Woodsman would give the axe, if Tony can guess his name, before the woodsman has chopped all his wood. If Tony does not guess the name, the woodsman would cut Wolf's head off. Tony guesses many names, but all names are wrong. As the woodsman chopps the last pieces of wood, a magic bird reads the name from his hat and tells it Tony. In the last moment he calls the name Juliet and wins the axe.

With the help of the magic birds, Tony and Wolf can find Virginia. She is being held captive in a hollow tree. After Wolf has climbed to Virginia on her own hair and Tony finds the entrance to the tree, the Huntsman comes back. A fight arises in which the hunter falls into one of his own traps. Wolf wants to kill the Hunter with the axe, but Virginia insists to keep him alive.

After a while Wolf cuts Virginia's hair. But he exaggerates and now Virginia's hair is very short and messy.

Legacy

The film doesn't show what happens to the axe. Due to the book, Virginia, Tony and Wolf burry the axe in the forest, after Wolf has cut Virginias hair. One usage of this item should be enough. In addition many people were killed with it.
